About

I write fantasy novels about myth, power, survival and human nature.
I have always been fascinated by the most important questions of all. Why are we here? What does it mean to be human? What is consciousness? What are truth, beauty and goodness? There is no nobler life than one spent trying to answer these questions. That is the ground my fiction stands on.
My first novel is in progress: a dark fantasy set in a world that looks different from ours, yet feels so familiar. Its people are real people, with their own hopes and dreams, caught in a cycle of conflict and survival. When there is more to share, it will appear here first.
Until then, this site holds two things. The Journal is where I write about the ideas underneath the fiction, which are often not so far removed from our own reality. Reviews is where I write about the books I read, mostly fantasy, grimdark and the myths they borrow from, with honest ratings.
Every second Sunday I send a longer letter to readers who want to go further. It is free, and it is the best way to hear how the book is progressing. If this sounds like something you would enjoy, I would be glad to have you along.
